Somesh Khanna

Somesh Khanna

Mr. Khanna is a senior advisor at McKinsey & Company and has served as the executive co‑chair of Apexon, an AI, data and digital-first technology services firm that specializes in accelerating business transformation, since June 2024. Previously, Mr. Khanna was senior partner at McKinsey & Company, which he joined in 1998. He co‑led the Global Banking & Securities Practice from 2018 until 2023, led McKinsey Digital for Financial Services globally from 2014 to 2018, led McKinsey’s New York office from 2011 to 2012, and led its Property & Casualty Insurance Practice from 2009 to 2011. Prior to joining McKinsey & Company, Mr. Khanna served as chief executive officer of a digital business at eCredit, focused on trade receivables securitization in partnership with J.P. Morgan.

Mr. Khanna serves on the board of directors of KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY). In addition, he currently serves on the board of directors of Persado Inc. He was previously on the board of Lincoln Center and SeriousFun Children's Network.

Mr. Khanna holds a M.S. in management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, a Post‑Graduate Diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, and a Bachelor of Technology in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) New Delhi.

Mr. Khanna’s pertinent qualifications include over 30 years of leadership in consulting and financial services, with expertise in digital strategy and organizational transformation in banking and insurance, a proven track record in building and scaling digital capabilities and leading productivity-enhancing initiatives, deep experience in new digital ventures, and governance and non-profit leadership through board roles at a public company and at major arts and philanthropic organizations.
