Rich Steinmeier
Rich Steinmeier is Chief Executive Officer of LPL Financial.
Before becoming CEO in 2024, Rich served as LPL’s Chief Growth Officer, where he led strategic growth initiatives and advisor recruiting. During his tenure, he oversaw the recruitment and onboarding of more than 7,700 producing advisors and over 100 new institutions, setting the firm’s growth trajectory by expanding into new markets and capitalizing on merger and acquisition opportunities.
Rich began his career at McKinsey & Company, advising clients in the financial services and manufacturing sectors. After a brief tenure at Ford Motor Company, he joined Merrill Lynch in 2006, where he held various leadership roles, ultimately serving as Managing Director of the Merrill Edge Advisory Center.
In 2012, he joined UBS as Managing Director and Head of the Wealth Advice Center and Emerging Affluent Segment. During his six years at UBS, he led the client digital strategy for Wealth Management Americas and oversaw growth across advisory platforms, including the development of a digital advice platform and its supporting technology strategy.
Rich earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Stanford University, where he was recognized as an Arjay Miller Scholar.
